Tryouts for the 2010 season

NOTE:  our travel and tournament baseball program commences play in April each year and continues through the summer season.  The players are selected each Fall in tryouts sessions or players are selected during the WinterWorkOut sessions preceding the season.  For example, the players on the rosters for our 2010 season will be selected at tryouts sessions which will be held in the Fall of 2009 or from evaluations conducted in the WinterWorkOut program of 2009-2010.  There are several roster positions open on the 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U 15U and 16U Diamond Dawgs teams for 2010 - please click on Contact Us and tell us about your playing experience - interested players may still find a roster position after an evaluation by our coaching staff].

New England Diamond Dawgs Baseball Club will field teams in the following age divisions for the 2010 season: 10U, 11U 12U 13U 14U 15U & 16U.  Click on age eligibility for more information about your age division for the 2010 season to determine player age eligibility to play in the 2010 season.

New England Diamond Dawgs Baseball Club will hold an informational meeting for parents and players one-half hour before each tryouts session to provide an overview of the travel/tournament baseball program offered by the baseball club.  All interested players and parents are invited to attend these informal sessions.  The format for these sessions is a presentation of an overview of the program by a club director followed by a question & answer session.  Players may also preregister for tryouts at these informational meetings to avoid any delay at the beginning of the tryouts sessions scheduled for this month.  Candidates are not required to attend but the sessions will provide answers to many questions and also afford an opportunity for players and parents to view the indoor training facility used by our baseball club for our WinterWorkOut program of pitching clinics, hitting instruction, catching camps, speed development camp and team practices.  Click here for directions to Future Stars.

New England Diamond Dawgs Baseball Club will conduct September and October 2009 sessions for tryouts in indoor sessions for tryouts at Future Stars in Dracut, Massachusetts.  Players pay a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for all tryouts and should attend as many sessions as possible – earlier enrollment and attendance at as many tryouts sessions as possible is recommended for each candidate (candidates may attend as few as two sessions, but three are recommended; there is no extra fee to attend additional sessions).  The tryouts schedule is as follows:

Players will be evaluated in these sessions and roster invitations to qualified players will follow. Players should dress appropriately for the try-outs and be prepared for a complete workout.

All interested candidates are invited to all these try-outs sessions. Candidates pay a one-time $50 try-outs fee and may attend all sessions for the fee (the tryout fee will be credited to the annual tuition for all players selected to the roster). Candidates should consider attending more sessions to permit the coaching staff to thoroughly evaluate a player’s skills and potential. Pitchers should be prepared to pitch; catchers bring equipment. Players not accepted to the roster may be invited for further evaluation by our coaching staff in the WinterWorkOut program. If you cannot make the tryout days, please call Marc Deschenes at 978-423-1893 to schedule a private tryout.

Try-outs sessions are conducted in conjunction with our WinterWorkOut program and interested candidates are encouraged to attend these sessions as well as the indoor sessions during the 2009-2010 WinterWorkOut program.

The WinterWorkOut sessions are intended to prepare players for the upcoming season, but also serve as the opportunity to introduce new players to our baseball program. New England Diamond Dawgs Baseball Club will also evaluate, assess and review players as candidates after the December and January try-outs sessions by coach’s invitation to attend the practices held each offseason in the WinterWorkOut sessions conducted as a part of our year-round baseball program. Interested players unable to attend the tryouts in December and January, who may be candidates for any of our 2010 teams should Contact Us for more information about additional try-outs opportunities during the WinterWorkOut program. Please tell us about your playing experience when you send us your inquiry.
